Hammerdin Guide Empty
PostSubject: Hammerdin Guide   Hammerdin Guide Icon_minitimeFri Dec 01, 2006 9:50 am

Probably one of the most used characters in the game. Reason being is that they kill everything quickly and efficiently.

Index:
1) Introduction
2) Skills
3) Gear
4) Strategy

1) Introduction
Some people are still not aware of the Pally that uses Blessed Hammer as an attack or "Hammerdin". Also most are aware of them just not exactly the specifics of them.

2) Skills

The skills will always be the same even if you are a Pro or a Con.
Done at cLvl: 81 (finished all skill quests).
20 Blessed Hammer
20 Concentration
20 Blessed Aim
20 Vigor
+5 Holy Shield (leveling up put the rest into here)
1 Redemption
7 Preq.

If you have not been gliched rushed, or rushed period, and you decided you wanted to play the game the way it was ment to be up to say Hell Baal. To get the most you can out of:
cLvl:
2 Might
3 Smite
4 Prayer *Den save*
5 *save*
6 Defiance, Holy bolt
7 *save*
8 *save*
9 *save*
10 *save*
11 *save*
12 Blessed Aim, Charge, Cleansing
13 Blessed Aim
14 Blessed Aim
15 Blessed Aim *Rada. save*
16 Blessed Aim
17 Blessed Aim
18 Blessed Hammer, Vigor, Blessed Aim, Concentration
19 Blessed Hammer, Vigor, Blessed Aim
20 Blessed Hammer
21 Blessed Hammer
22 Blessed Hammer
23 Blessed Hammer
24 Holy Shield *Izzy - Blessed Hammer, Concentration*
25 Blessed Hammer
26 Blessed Hammer
27 Blessed Hammer
28 Blessed Hammer
29 Blessed Hammer
30 Redemption
31-38 Blessed Hammer
... then max out in order Concentration, Blessed Aim and then Vigor. Put skill points into Holy Shield after you have maxed Blessed Hammer, Concentration, Blessed Aim and then Vigor.

3) Items: The gear all Hammerdin's use from Pro to Con.

Helms
Shako - Couple skills, life, mana and damage reduction. Can't get any better. Socket with either Um for 15 resistance, Shael for 20% faster hit recovery or Jah for 5% max life.

Alternatives:
Rare/Crafted Circlet - One with 2 Pally skills, life, resistance and hopefully strength. Socket with Um, Shael, Jah or Ber.

Magic Circlet - 2 Pally skills, faster cast rate and 2 soc.

Peasant Crown - Skill, faster run walk, life, mana.

Armor
Egnima - 2 skills, life, teleport, everything about it rocks. A must have.

Alternatives:
Skin of Viper Magi - The best con caster armor: Skill, resistance and faster cast rate. Socket with an Um for more resistance if possible.

Weapon
Heart of the Oak (Hoto) - Nothing can really match this caster weapon. 3 skills, resistance, faster cast rate and mana. Plus if your into the Oak Sage skill.

Alternatives:
Wizardspike - A whooping 75 resistance, 50% faster cast rate and a big mana boost.

Shield
Herald of Zakarum - No need for questioning. Skills, resistance, strength and life.

Alternatives:
Spirit - 55 faster hit recovery, resistance, skills, life, mana. Kickass shield.

Magic Shield - Just anything with 2 Pally Skills.

Gloves
Magefist - 20 faster cast rate and the regenerate 25% mana.

Alternatives:
Trang-Oul gloves - 20 faster cast rate and 30 cold resistance.

Crafted caster gloves - Mana.

Belt
Arachnid Mesh - Best caster belt in the game. 1 skill and faster cast rate.

Alternatives:
Crafted caster belt - Faster cast rate and mana.

Boots
Sandstorm Trek - Life, strength, poison resistance and faster hit recovery.

Silkweave - Mana and mana after each kill.

Imp Shank - Resistance, faster run walk and faster hit recovery. Very pricey.

Alternatives:
Waterwalk - Life.

Amulet
Mara's Kaleidoscope - Skills, resistance and 5+ to attributes.

Rare/Crafted amulet - 2 Pally skills, life, mana, resistance and possibly strength.

Alternatives:
The Eye of Etlich - Skill

Magic amulet - 2 Pally skill and/or 3 Pally combat.

Rings For rings its about your tastes. If you perfer more damage and mana go for 2 SoJ's. If you like faster cast rate and resistance and/or life/strength go for 2 rare/crafted ones. But if you want one of each go for it.

4) Strategy
For PvM and for some duels in PvP I use a technique what I like to call "Triangle Set". (A) The goal is to teleport/go to a spot and spawn a few hammers. (B)Then go in any direction within a short distance and spawn a few more hammers. (C) Your third teleport/spot should be around a 33 degree angle from your B spot (acute triangle). And do the process over again.

Against Sorc's: Swich one/both of your rings w/ a Dwarf Star if versing a fire sorc, Ravenfrost against a cold sorc or a Wisp Protector. Teleport/charge to spots and spawn hammers since the sorc is most likely going to teleport everywhere and hopefully she'll teleport onto one of your hammers.

Against Zon's: Bowzon's just teleport on them and cast away. If your versing a Javazon put on one or 2 Wisp Protectors and do the same against a Bowzon.

Against Pally's: Versing another hammerdin use my "Triangle Set". Against a zealer spawn a couple hammers and then teleport/charge a short distance away. If dueling a smiter you might want to only spawn 1 hammer while using my "Triangle Set" since it is fair game against them. Against Fohers just try to teleport onto them and spam hammers.

Against Barb's: WW barbs will be easy all you need to do is teleport somewhere and they'll likely ww into one of your hammers. Every now and then there will be the odd "Thrower". All they need to do is find a moster and cast frenzy, then find you and throw away. Kill them as quickly as possible.

Against Druid's: Weredruids are piece of cake, just cast a few hammers and they're dead. Wind druids you'll need to both teleport places and cast hammers and soon teleport on them to kill them.

Against Assassin's: Trappers can be deadly, put on a couple of Wisp Protectors to not get hurt so much from their traps. WWsin you may have trouble against since they'll cast dragon flight on you and ww you. If you use my "Triangle Set" against them you should recive a win and/or draw.

Against Necro's: Summoners you can get rid of easily. Bone nec's will be far away and cast Bone Spirits to kill you, if you put on Vigor while dodging the spirits and run near him, teleport on him and quickly kill. Poison nec's are very deadly since their nova's will get your life to 1 in a couple seconds or so, take an antedote before you duel this guy. Teleport on him and cast.

Well.. my first guide
